Ultra Rare are John and Richie, a couple of lovely fellas from the North of England. Having had an interest in crypto for many years, Richie has always believed in the idea of NFTs. John, with a background in graphic design and screenwriting, having written extensively for film and TV, is a collector who just loves to be creative. When Richie first told John about digital collectibles, many years ago, John thought Richie was crazy. Digital collectibles didn’t make sense. You want to feel the thing, touch it, hold it. But Richie was certain this was the future. And when John - a massive GPK fan - saw the first GPK series released on the wax blockchain, he had to have a set. Sure enough, it wasn’t long before the pair started wondering whether they could make their own collectible series... As a partnership, we have a simple mission: create high quality digital art that surprises, delights and excites collectors. Art that has value. That’s why we keep our numbers low and refuse to over-supply. This isn’t a get rich quick scheme for us - it’s about producing quality projects and being creative, having fun, innovating and experimenting. We’re storytellers and we see NFTs an exciting new medium in which to explore narrative. We’re also very keen to give experience and exposure to talented artists, who might not have had their break. Artists who we work with ethically, who we treat with respect, openness and honesty, giving them the space to experiment and play. And we know it’s been a difficult year, especially for those working in the arts. A year when we need our local communities more than ever. This is why we pledge to ensure we work with local artists, based in the North of England, wherever we can. We want to push the boundaries, try new things, see where this crazy journey takes us. Be great if you joined us for the ride! John & Richie

We always liked the AW team, as they were building a game/project in a way that gave value a lot of value to the space. It was a big reason we collaborated with them on our Alien Bat and Celestial Terror NFTs, which are still both valued over $400, showing the reception they received.

When we realised you could distribute NFTs to people who mined on your lands, we knew that was how we wanted to give away our second set: Cryptids. We loved the opportunity to give out an entire collectible set of NFTs in a completely fair and randomised way to reward our community. No project had attempted anything on the scale we did at that point, giving away 12,000 NFTs. It was the first taste of collecting for a lot of people and the community loved it. “Best thing on Alien Worlds” according to Nick Kusters (at least we're pretty sure he said that!)

We have since released a further two free mining sets on Alien Worlds: Crypto Horrors and 16 Bit Squad, 30,000 and 60,000 NFTs respectively. We always try to push the boundaries and Alien Worlds has been a great platform for us to do that. They're a great team, who we enjoy working with, who approach the space in a community-minded way. This is why we were very happy to collaborate again with the Alien Worlds team with our Interstellar Emissary and Intergalactic Zombie NFTs.

It's been a pretty crazy twelve months, but here's to an even crazier twelve months to come!”
